Planes, Trains, and Autopilot Thrills

And even when you’re careful,

the plane can come crashing down

and all at one your world becomes fleeting moments of

consciousness and clairvoyance,

callousness and close.

You have never seen yourself this way.

How can you

when the lamp is always off,

the mirror is always fogged

from the hot showers where you scrub

your goosebumps down to flesh.

Red with anger,

hot with anguish

as it all peels away

to slip within the pores of the drain.

The plane is crashing

the people are screaming

it’s all in your head.

But you must not be dreaming.
